Howdy, Hoosiers. The time has come again for yet another update on the campaign, where I tell you what I’ve been up to, keep you up-to-date on the campaign, and give you a glimpse of what’s planned for the immediate future.
Last week, after realizing my signature threshold for ballot access was higher than expected, I knew that I needed to shift things into high gear. The temperatures and humidity levels have been high, and the weather has been largely uncooperative. I was determined to not let that come between me and fighting for the people of my district, though. Some of you may have even seen me out in a poncho collecting signatures in the storms. I’ll bet you won’t catch the other candidates doing that.
I’m happy to say that I am just a few signatures away from the 632 needed for ballot access. I turned 560 in to the county on the 10th and am currently sitting at about 619. All of these signatures still have to go through a certification process, of course, and so I have to assume that several of these signatures will be invalidated in that process. That being said, I can’t afford to drop my pack just yet.
Today and the rest of this week, I will keep forging on with gathering signatures. I’m looking pretty good for hitting my number tonight, but I’d like to hit 750 by the end of the weekend. That would give me a decent buffer to start next week with, and then there are a couple of county fairs that I’d like to get out to in Vermillion and Warren Counties.
Until next time, District 23, have yourselves a better-than-great weekend. I’ll be thinking about ya.
Genuinely,
Joshua Brant
