Joshua Brant, independent candidate for Indiana State Senate District 23, discusses the challenges faced by the farming sector in Indiana, and how helping agriculture can be a catalyst for lowering the cost of living across the state.
Senate District 23 consists of the western half of Tippecanoe County, parts of Montgomery County, and all of Warren, Fountain, Vermillion, and Parke Counties.
Corn and Soybeans make up about 2/3 of Indiana’s agricultural sector, which in and of itself is about 1/3 of the state’s overall economy.
As part of his campaign, Joshua Brant has been trying to determine how to help farmers lower their costs and diversify their crops as a means to help lower food costs across the state. He has driven several hundred miles to attend summits like the ones mentioned in this video in an effort to educate himself on the growing needs of Hoosier farmers. None of the other candidates in the race for District 23 were in attendance at these events.
